Scan product barcodes
There are 2 main types of barcode: 1D and 2D.
1D barcodes:
Most of you might be more familiar with 1D barcodes (including EAN-13, EAN-8, ISBN, UPC-A, UPC-E, Code128, Code39, etc.). It is a linear barcode that uses lines of various widths and spaces to encode the data.
Fill the barcode for products in your Back Office and then use a barcode scanner to quickly add them to cart.
To connect RockPOS to a barcode scanner, you just need to follow instructions to connect the scanner to your computer. You can search barcode scanners connected to computers via a USB port, or Bluetooth/Wifi. As long as your computer recognises the scanner, RockPOS also works smoothly.
2D barcodes:
2D barcodes are a pattern of black and white blocks arranged in a square:
2D barcodes are less used on products but rather on gift cards or on physical confirmations as a reference. So far RockPOS hasn’t supported this barcode, but it is our future plan.
